I cut off all of my hair!
Well, not all of it. But a great deal of it. It was almost down to the middle of my back. I've been wanting to do something new with it for a long time, including cutting it. I've been dragging my feet because I have been growing it for almost 3 years. I had a pixie cut when my husband proposed to me, and began growing it long for our wedding. It didn't quite make it by the time we got married, but I continued to grow it anyhow.

I decided yesterday was as good a day as any to finally make a change...


The ponytail was a good 9" long!!

Wow! You picked a good time to cut it off too, because today was pretty hot. I remember when I cut off about 10" last summer; I felt so much better and lighter afterward!

Yeah, seriously! All I could think of was another long, hot weekend at ComFest with my blanket of hair. Ugh!

It was pretty cathartic. I definitely feel lighter. I've had this hairstyle before, and always liked it. I at least knew it'd be a safe bet. Besides, it's just hair...I can always grow it back. ;)

I toy with the idea of cutting my hair, but I'm worried I have a funny shaped head.

I have a funny-shaped head myself. Fortunately, because it's so curly, I can rock even a pixie cut (when I'm thinner of course, my face is too fat right now). The curls take away from the shape of my head. :D

Cute! I take it your hair is very naturally curly..

Mine is pretty wavy and I usually prefer the shorter cuts. I'm growing it out now for my wedding and have been for awhile, but there's a good chance I'll be chopping it off after the honeymoon!! Long hair can be very pretty, but shorter seems to have more style.

Yes, it's very naturally curly. I also have a ton of it. I'm fortunate that it's not very coarse, so it's somewhat manageable. It's just that when it's long, I can't do a whole lot with it. Wear it down or tied up in a clip. It is SOOOOO much work. People always chirp that I'm so lucky to have naturally curly hair. They have no clue how much maintenance it is.

I think now is a good time to un-complicate my life. :)
